In early spring, apply this product to dry lawns to prevent the growth of crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, barnyardgrass, fall panicum, goosegrass, and oxalis throughout the season (for goosegrass control, reapply after 8 weeks). For fall prevention, from August to October, target moss (excluding California) and the germination of Poa annua, henbit, corn speedwell, and chickweed.

This pre-emergent weed killer is suitable for all types of lawns and grass except Dichondra or Bentgrass. Regardless of rain, snow, or freezing weather post-application, the product's performance remains unaffected. It should be noted that Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer is most effective on young crabgrass and cannot eliminate already grown weeds.
